Situation

The JPMorgan Chase Manhattan Bank building in downtown Wilmington had 104 separate HVAC units controlling temperature and humidity. The building’s previous HVAC vendor was unresponsive to the needs of the client, and with $30 billion of transactions passing through the building daily, downtime due to HVAC malfunction is unacceptable.

Challenges

With such a large number of transactions taking place every day, a building such as this one must have a reliable and easy-to-maintain HVAC system. In addition, HVAC servicemen must be available 24 hours per day to meet the demands of a global corporation like JPMorgan Chase Manhattan.

Solutions

To ensure round-the-clock service capabilities, J.J. White assigned two highly skilled service technicians to be on-call for JPMorgan Chase Manhattan 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. J.J. White also worked closely with the corporation to develop a Customized Service Maintenance Agreement that ensures a minimal amount of downtime for the building’s system.
