STOP WORK AUTHORITY NEEDS TO BE OUR #1 PRIORITY.

Why is Stop Work Authority such a critical “link” in our safety process?

Stop Work Authority is considered to be a core principal for J J White Inc.  Every employee and subcontractor working for us has not only the authority but also the responsibility and expectation to use their Stop Work Authority if they discover any unsafe act/condition or if they have questions on how to safely perform a task.

Most of the time we associate these situations with jobs that are being actively worked, but there could also be times where we may have to exercise our Stop Work Authority prior starting work or even before receiving a Work Authorization Permit.

By exercising Stop Work Authority, we are proactively mitigating or eliminating potential hazards from our work place before they have a chance to have an adverse impact.  If we don’t take action in these situations, we are leaving the safety in our facility up to chance.
