Safety Cannot Wait Until You Come Through the Front Gate
How is safety a part of your lifestyle?
We spend a significant portion of our work days reviewing JSAs, procedures, work scopes and other items to ensure that EVERY task is executed safely. What about once you leave the job? Do you fill out a JSA when you work on your house or car? Did you put a lock on the breaker when you changed out a light switch?
Even though formal safe work procedures and documentation may not exist outside of work, we are still exposed to some of the same hazards. Line of fire, tripping hazards, pinch points, and falling objects are all hazards that we see every day outside the gates.
Making safety a part of your lifestyle will allow you to recognize and mitigate everyday hazards to keep you and your family safe. We must translate the focus and attention we have in the workplace to all aspects of our lives.
