Excavation & Trench Housekeeping

Proper housekeeping of debris and spoils must be maintained to avoid materials falling into the trench or excavation:

• Remove material and debris.
• Store spoils, equipment and other materials that can pose a hazard at least 2 feet away, or use effective retaining devices.

The work should not be done in an excavation or trench until all material and debris are properly stored, removed or retained.
