After numerous evaluations and detailed onsite reports, JJ White Inc. will continue participating in the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) as a Star member at our Paulsboro, NJ site.
OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Programs have partnered with contractors and jobsites exhibiting excellence in occupational safety and health since 1982. Sites participating in the program go above and beyond the normal OSHA standards and display a rigorous commitment to employee safety. To be a part of the VPP program, jobsites must have an ongoing, effective health and safety program, high levels of OSHA participation, and maintain good performance. These designated VPP sites often have lost workday incident rates that are 50 percent lower than the industry average.
Being a Star participant in an OSHA VPP signals that the company is an industry leader in safety and serves as a model for other employers, workers, and unions. JJ White Inc. achieved and maintained safety and illness rates well below the construction industry average in Paulsboro. Our site’s comprehensive safety management systems and self-sufficient ability to control workplace hazards have earned the Star designation once again.
We are proud to continue as an industry safety leader and will continue to lead by example with our renewed OSHA VPP Star designation. Our company-wide commitment to safety is evident in all of our work, no matter the size or scope of the project.
