HOW CAN WE BE SAFE AROUND EQUIPMENT

Avoid entering equipment operating areas.

Near Moving, Swinging, or pinch point work vehicles:

• Obey markings and barricades in work space, stay outside the “Danger Zone”
• Never enter space unannounced

Approach only after communicating with the operator:

• By Radio contact
• With hand signals
• Wait until operator responds to you on radio or returns signal
• Never assume an operator sees you

WHAT ELSE CAN WE DO

Here are some important practices to follow:

• Pay attention to back-up alarms
• Avoid standing in Equipment blind spots
• Always use a spotter or two when moving Equipment
